加拿大

加拿大位于北美洲北部，东濒大西洋，西临太平洋，北滨北冰洋。面积997多万平方千米。人口 2710万，英法移民后裔约80%，余为其他欧亚移民后裔和当地土著居民。英语、法语为官 方语 言。首都渥太华。有蒙特利尔、多伦多、温哥华等重要城市。全境西高东低。西部山区峰岭起 伏，洛根山海拔5951米，为全国最高峰；中部平原广袤；东部为低山和丘陵区。河湖众多，湖 泊面积位居世界第一，大熊湖、大奴湖和与美国相邻处的五大湖均为世界知名的巨大湖泊。最大河流马更些河长4250千米。海岸曲折，港湾及岛屿众多。多数地区属寒带和温带针叶林气候。有石油、天然气、煤、金、银、石棉、铜、铀等多种矿藏，是世界最重要的矿产国之一。水力资源、森林资源及渔业资源均极丰富。全国经济高度发达，工业门类齐全，采矿、电力、化工、冶金、机械、造纸、木材等部 门 规模巨大，技术先进。农业、渔业均以高度的机械化生 产闻名。人均粮食产量居世界首位。交通发达，铁路、公路、航空、海运全面发展、现代化运 输体系完善。

National Marine Park Fathom Five National Marine Park and Bruce Peninsula National Park protect the on- and off-shore landscapes produced by the spectacular Niagara Escarpment as it meets and dives below the waters of Georgian Bay. Fathom Five is composed of green islands, lake bottoms and clear cold water; Bruce Peninsula is its mainland counterpart of limestone cliffs, mixed forests, wetlands and tranquil beaches.

Aulavik National Park Aulavik is over 12,000 square kilometres of undeveloped wilderness. Features include deeply cut river canyons, rugged desert-like badlands, and numerous archaeological sites. Ideal for wilderness rafting and canoeing is the Thomsen River, Canada's most northerly navigable river.
